Design criteria called for Monster meets Metal for an amazing custom cake maker. Assets included a single and full color version, a clean and organic render - to be parsed out for ultimate brand reach. Design release was at Halloween.
Was stoked to work with Brett Freeman for his new Trucking business. He loves Van Halen and needed a logo that is as cool as he is. The obvious choice was custom type with a bevel, metallic inks for printing and a concert tee to boot.
A majority of my designs end up being 'built' on the computer making them vector-based images. Some builds take longer than others, depending on how fine-tuned the sketch is and the speed of the music in my headphones.
No computer was harmed in the making of these images. I was late to the computer party, initially designing on illustration board with a non-repo grid, Letraset for subtext and hand-drawn color seps on vellum paper. Yep OG.
With every identity package I make room for a pattern as one of the assets. It can quickly broaden your brand's canvas; every square inch of a product is now fair game. My 'White Space' teacher in Art School would cringe at the notion.
